Sam McComas Fam

We are doing well. Sam has found a great job at the Veterans hospital. The only part is right now he has to work nights to earn his day position. He works 7pm to 7:30am. It is definitely a hard schedule to adjust to. Actually I don’t think you can ever adjust to it you just have to get used to it and live with it. We are certainly hoping it won’t be long on this schedule but we are very grateful that he did get a job at the VA. It was truly the best option out of all the possibilities. It seems that the closer it gets to the end of the year the more stuff there is going on. Our summer was busy but nice and then September and October have just been a blur and I am sure it will only get worse till Christmas is over. I have been very busy in my new calling as second counselor in Relief Society over enrichment. Yikes! I am truly going to learn a lot because I have never really had the chance to work in Relief Society ever. So I am excited to learn about what goes on and it will be great to truly get to know the sisters in the ward and not just their children. I am also excited because the stake is putting on a play about Joseph Smith this December and I decided it would be good for me to go and try out even though I have no play experience but I do have singing abilities so I thought sure why not. So I tried out and they have asked me to be Emma Smith. Can you believe it? I can’t. I am sure I will be grateful for this experience to portray Emma.

Ashtyn is so grown up now. You would hardly even recognize her, she is certainly not just two years old. She is the big kahuna around here. She wants to do everything on her own and take over the household. She loves to sing to herself, songs that she knows and made up ones that usually consist of whatever she or those around her are doing at that moment.

Hailey is our little chunky monkey. She is almost six months old and she already weighs almost 20 pounds. She loves to eat eat eat. She is rolling over like crazy and is almost able to sit up on her own. She loves to watch Ashtyn and everything she is busy doing. If she can’t see Ashtyn but can hear her she will grunt until you get her up where she can see what she is doing. It is great the bond that they as sisters already share. They love each other and want to be together.

Sam has been working on furniture out in the shop, and is currently working on an oak bed for his brother, Carson. He really enjoys getting out and working on stuff. He has made some wooden beads and other jewelry stuff, wooden puzzles, picture frames for family, a small boat with Cody.

We are still here in the Lowe’s home until April. We haven’t heard back for sure when they will be here but it will probably be around conference weekend in April. We are currently house shopping so we will see what happens. We are excited and nervous to have a home of our own. But this whole new learning process is fun. If you have any tips just let us know. We hope you are all wonderful. We love you all.

Sam, Jill, Ashtyn, and Hailey
