Steve and I were able to attend the groundbreaking for the Twin Falls Temple. Elder Neil Anderson of the seventy presided.
The messages given spoke of the gratitude we feel for those who had prepared the way for this historic occasion. They reminded us that when King Benjamin spoke to the people, he admonished them to keep their tent doors turned toward the temple. As we anticipate the building of "our" temple, we must prepare ourselves and keep our doors (our lives) pointed in the right direction.
We were reminded of the blessings that come with attending the temple and that in that sacred place, the veil is thin. We know that those who have gone before us are aware of us and thankful when we do their work.
It had rained the night before and was coolish! But as Elder Anderson offered the dedicatory prayer, the sun came out as if to say..."I am the Son, and I will bless you as you work on this holy house."
We are excited to be part of it! When I think about the great sacrifice the Saints were asked to give in building the Kirtland temple....what we are asked to do is soooo little in comparison! All He really asks us to do it GO!!!! I will go to the temple! I love it!
Today, is such a wonderful day. We remember that He lives and loves us!
